The history of Punjab starts with the name itself. It is a combination of two words PUNJAB. Here, PUNJ means Five and AAB means River. So basically, it is the land of five rivers. But after 1947 Punjab was divided into two parts and its rivers also(But still people of Punjab don't change their lifestyle). The Punjabis are famous for their lifestyle and they are known for their fashion, kind heart and food across the world.

The City Life of Punjab

The cities of Punjab such as Amritsar, Jalandhar, and Ludhiana are popular across the world. Amritsar is popular among the tourists for the holiest shrine of Sikhs Golden Temple & other tourist attractions such as Wagah Border and Jaliawala Bagh. Jalandhar is famous for its sports products and Ludhiana for hosiery and textiles where thousands of migrants from different parts of India come to work. The city life of Punjab is full of Hustle and bustle. People are very kind-hearted, especially toward tourists.

Punjabi Lifestyle in Villages

The Lifestyle of Punjab has evolved a lot in the last 20 years. The villages of Punjab are full of greenery and people do farming usually in villages to make their ends meet. People speak their mother tongue Punjabi in Villages which is a gemstone of Punjab. It is a delight to listen to the Punjabi language because it is immensely sweet. People of Villages are very fashionable and they love to ride the bullets & wear best brand clothes. You can spot young boys on bullets and wear branded clothes.

Punjabi Food

Every person must try to taste Punjabi food at least once in their lifetime. Punjabis are a die-hard fans of their foods. There is no dearth of food items in Punjab to savour. The authentic Punjabi food such as Makki di Roti and Sarson Ka Saag, Dal Makhni, Lassi can make anyone drool. Also, we do have a lot of other oily stuff like Chhole Bhature, Kulche Chhole, Amritsari Naan, and Gol Gappe.  So while you stay in Punjab, don't miss the taste of Punjabi food.
